Snow Black Princess Aika: Longest doll wait in Azone dolls history (with video)

Today, I'm reviewing the Azone doll that required the longest wait in the history of Azone dolls: The Dollybird limited Snow Black Princess Aika.
Snow Black Princess Aika was announced about a year ago at the same time as Snow White Princess Aika. Snow White Princess Aika was a normal released and came out in normal time after a pre-order period and a short wait. Snow Black Princess Aika however, as a dollybird limited doll, was only available through preorder on Hobby Japan. I decided not to take a chance and to order her as soon as possible so I did so on February 26th, 2016. The pre-order however was opened until the end of June and the doll was supposed to be released this February. It is very unusual for Azone dolls to have such a long preorder. Groove also had special pre-order for Pullip Alura at the same time and even that wasn't all that long in comparison.
The Snow Black version of Aika was often to be seen at the Azone store in Akihabara but I was a bit worried about where mine actually was. Then one day, months after the pre-order was closed, I received an email asking for payment. Then again nothing for mnomonths then again about two weeks ago an email stating that the dolls would be shipped on the 17th. I actually received an email about the tracking on the 18th and she arrived later that same evening.

Snow Black Princess Aika is probably one of the most beautiful doll in the Otogi no Kuni series. She has the particularity to have a sort of orange hair made from strand of mixed colors ranging from brown to pink. She also has a smile that shows her teeth, she is my only azone doll with that sort of face.
She is wearing a very detail outfit with many different layer that allow her to have several possible outfit combination if needed. She comes with a basket just the same as the Snow White Aika but in a black version. I think these two doll really look great together.

Wonfes Winter 2017 in pictures (with pictures)

Yesterday I went to the Wonder Festival at Makuhari Messe. Wonder Festival or Wonfes, is an event for figures of all kind and some dolls. There are big companies like Good smile, Volks or Azone showcasting their future releases and there are also individual people selling some of their stuff or home made products.
This time, I went there because I wanted the new Nendoroid Snow Miku Twinkle version. She is my first nendoroid. I was up for a late start and was worried not to make it before she went sold out but I still managed to get her and the Figma version too. I will be opening them in other video.
Wonfes is a very large event so it was a bit hard to record everything and to take pictures of everything but I did my best to cover as large a part as I could. I hope you enjoyed the video.

Sample Doll Opening and Review: Anne Shirley of Green Gables (with video)

Hi guys and welcome to the last sample doll review video from the doll I've got at the last doll show. (I still have one from July but I need more time for him.)

Today, I'm reviewing Anne of Green Gable. I always love the story as a kid so I thought that I needed the doll when I discovered that there was actually a pullip version. I also have the Sera of Green and Blue Gable from azone which I'll probably talk about in a different video.

Anne is originally an older pullip but this version is the regeneration that was made back in 2012. Her official name is actually Regeneration Anne. Because she is an older version, she also have an older version of face up with very little blushing and well defined contours around the eyes with no blending and the dots freckles. I think the only other pullip with dot freckles is Meg but they are less visible and the new freckles version is Naoko and they are really subtle and blended.
Pullip Anne comes with the traditional looking outfit of Anne of Green Gable with the hat and the luggage she used to carry around.
I think she totally nails the character.

Her quote: Like the eternal heroine ”Anne of Green Gables”, I want to be surrounded by nature and immerse in my favorite imaginations… Feel Like So.

WeWriWar 195: Rainbow catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday.

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery. But it was a scam and Jason prepares to go get the rainbow himself in the desert. Markus has a last surprise for him.

We start just where we left off last week.

Sky City was not a huge city but it was a colorful one. This part of the town was composed of residential quarters, mostly for manual workers like him and Markus. The houses only had one floor and the walls and roofs were painted in different colors giving them an artistic aspect. Some houses had drawings, you could tell that the owners were working in some artistic area, the beautiful painting were most likely to attract clients to their shops or ateliers.

Jason enjoyed living here. The neighborhood wasn’t safe but it was nice to be able to recognize everything around easily, to know where to go and where not to go, what to do and what not to do. Here he somewhat felt safe. The rest of the city was another story.
